From a Word from Becky, my monthly newsletter to my readers
Dear friends,
We have entered our fourth week of Advent. In listening in spiritual direction this past week, I kept hearing how many ways the Incarnation is on the cusp of happening in people’s lives…the building moment right before the birth of Christ into our lives. I heard things such as:
- God birthing a new revelation and insight into a person’s life
- The growing clarity of a long discerned call within inches of being able to be acted upon
- New awareness of a person’s identity
- The welling of belief that I can receive forgiveness or I can forgive someone else
The Incarnation happens again and again in our lives. Jesus came. He embraced humanity and drew near to us. Jesus is coming. He comes into our lives. He lives with us still, abiding within our inner chapels, in the Eucharist, in the Word of God, and in each of us. Jesus will come again. This means not only the second coming but also that Jesus will come in that next moment we need him to. He will be present. He will show up. Jesus was, is, and will be with us.
This week, I invite you to notice:
- How is Jesus coming into your life?
- How is the Incarnation happening?
- How are you being called to help be the hands and feet of Jesus for others today?
With our fourth Advent candle lit, our prayer of O’Come O’Come Emmanuel emboldens in us. Let us gather our voices and faith so that we can be ready to proclaim the Good News of Jesus coming into our lives!
Know of my prayers for you!
Peace,
Becky
